Forward Strive began as an idea in the middle of a pandemic — a spark that emerged from quiet, hard-earned reflection. It was born from my belief that healing and movement are not just about bodies in motion, or thoughts in isolation, but about the whole. When the world paused, I leaned into that truth: our pain — physical and emotional — is deeply interconnected.
My academic path started with a Bachelor of Science in psychology, laying the foundation for understanding how our minds shape our experience of the world. Everything shifted when I answered a deeper call to become a physical therapist, completing my Doctorate in Physical Therapy. What I learned clinically — through science, observation, and relationship — was this: movement without awareness, or awareness without compassion, never heals completely. True recovery invites the mind-body dialogue.
So Forward Strive was conceived not just as a therapy practice, but as a place of integration — where evidence meets curiosity, where compassion meets courage, and where bodies and nervous systems learn to move with ease again.
What started online has grown into something bigger.
In writing Grace for the Body, I found a language for what I’d seen in my patients and in myself: that pain, especially chronic pain or symptoms without a clear diagnosis, doesn’t just live in the tissues — it lives in memory, meaning, and the stories we tell about our bodies. That book became a bridge — a way to bring people out of isolation and into understanding and self-compassion.
And now — guided by that same philosophy — Forward Strive has expanded its scope to include Forward Physical Therapy, where one-on-one care meets science and mindfulness, and where healing is tailored, practical, and human-centered.
Our Philosophy: What We Stand For
Healing isn’t linear. It isn’t easy. But it is discoverable.
At Forward Strive, we don’t just treat symptoms — we help you understand your body and your experience, so you can find lasting ease in movement, in thought, and in life.
Because the body doesn’t heal in isolation. Meaning matters. Nervous systems matter. And you matter.
Why This Matters
People who come here often share a similar story:
They’ve lived with discomfort or chronic symptoms for years.
They’ve tried therapies that didn’t quite hold them.
They’ve been told “it’s all in your head” — or that there’s “nothing wrong” — when their lived experience says otherwise.
Forward Strive honors both the science of the body and the lived reality of the person in it.
