Let's Meet

About me

Hi I am Kate Stark

I have my doctorate in physical therapy and a degree in psychology.  I live in the lowcountry and call Charleston, South Carolina home.  My lovely bean, Baxter, and our two rescue dogs, Leya and Bali, are my partners and family.

We love to be outside and especially on the water.  We fish and hike locally and adventure to places that involve fishing and hiking.  We take pride in our loyalty to mother nature by catching and releasing the fish we catch, and by leaving everywhere we go better than how we found it.

How I Got Here

In my undergraduate studies, I took an interest in cognitive psychology… thinking about thinking.  It was here that I was first introduced to mindfulness and habit forming techniques to succeed towards clearly defined set goals.

While earning my doctorate in physical therapy, I was introduced to a technique called trigger point dry needling.  Dry needling already has evidence backing its success in not just recovery from acute injuries and surgery, but also with the restructuring of pain modulation patterns and pain perception in individuals with chronic pain conditions.

I utilize this method in my daily practice as a physical therapist and continue to grow my knowledge and skills in the field as it develops. I want to share this knowledge with you so that you have a better understanding of what it does and how it may help you in your healing journey.
